NoZLan is back: member pages are live!

It has been quiet here for a few years, but NoZLan is back, on a completely rebuilt website. And we are bringing something people asked about back when they signed up at our conventions: your own member page, with your own albums.

Everything below is live today. It is brand new, so if something looks off, doesn't work or feels wrong, please tell us: use Contact us at the bottom of every page. Every report helps.

The new NoZLan

• A completely new website. Faster, works on your phone, and a fresh neon look.
• The full archive is still here: 41,150 photos from 125 events, from 2009 up to 2019. Browse by convention, by tag, or search.
• Old links still work. A link to an old photo or article takes you to the right page on the new site.
• Download photos straight from the archive.

Your own member page

• Create an account (16+) and get your own page at nozlan.com/u/yourname.
• Make it yours: display name, profile photo, cover photo, a short bio, pronouns, country, what you do (cosplayer, photographer, maker) and links to your socials.
• Pick a style: Timeline, Gallery or Spotlight. You can switch at any time in Edit page.
• Add tags for the conventions, fandoms and series you love, so others can find you.
• You decide who sees it: public, only people with the link, or hidden. Your page stays out of Google unless you turn that on.

Albums and uploads

• Upload the way you are used to: drag and drop, browse your computer, or straight from your phone's gallery.
• 750 MB of storage for everyone, and 1 GB if you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Your own watermark: text or your own logo, in the corner and size you choose.
• Keep your originals if you want to change the watermark later or download them again.
• Blur revealing photos: visitors see a blurred version until they choose to open it.
• Albums by convention and year, with a cover you crop yourself, photos in the order you like, and download on or off per album.
• Private albums: public, a private link to share, or only you.
• Location and camera data are removed from every photo you upload.

Community

• Butterflies: give a butterfly to photos you love. Only the owner sees how many they got. No public likes, no rankings.
• Credits: tag the photographer or cosplayer. Credits only show after that person accepts them.
• "This is me": found yourself in our archive? Link those photos to your own page.
• Staff picks: our favourite member photos on the front page.

Safe first

Cosplayers deal with far too much bullying online, so safety comes before everything else here:

• Every photo is checked by a person from our team before anyone else can see it.
• No comments and no direct messages. Nobody can leave a nasty remark under your photos.
• A report button everywhere, for photos, albums and pages. Reports go to our moderators, never to the person you report.
• Clear community rules and a privacy statement.
